Flexible Kitchen Systems – the kitchen which adapts to individual needs
System Flex kitchens are designed with all users in mind. The system is the result of the co-operation between architects, occupational therapists, housing providers and the end user.
Flexibility is the key to creating the optimum environment and the unique adjustment feature of System Flex ensures that the kitchen works for rather than against the user.
Height adjustment is just one factor and in addition to this the durable construction of System Flex makes it ideal for use in sheltered housing, domestic adaptations, schools and colleges.
System Flex – the original flexible kitchen
When kitchens have to accommodate a number of users with varying height requirements a frame system should be used to enable the work surfaces and/or storage units to be instantly adjusted in height; either manually or by electric motor.
Such scenarios could be a family situation, group homes, schools & colleges or indeed any situation where multi-use is expected.
Most base and tall storage units are supplied with pull out trays or baskets which provide easy access into the furniture. Corner voids are made accessible by the incorporation of carousel type shelves.
Drawers and pullouts are on friction free runners that enable those with limited dexterity to use them.
Mobile trolleys compensate for storage lost under sink and hob areas whilst a pull out shelf underneath the oven is essential for transferring items and is a useful additional work surface
